During the Nar Phu Valley Trek, we cross several high passes, scenic villages, ancient monasteries, and narrow canyons to reach remote Nar and Phu villages near Tibet border. After visiting the Nar Phu Valley, you will be rejoining the Annapurna Circuit Trails in Manang Village. We continue our trek ahead to Throng-La Pass (5416m), passing through Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi. From Muktinath, we take a Jeep to Jomsom and fly or drive back to Pokhara. Our trek ends in Pokhara because most of the trekkers want to spend a few extra days in Pokhara after the trek.

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu [1,330 m]:
Upon your arrival, a representative from Nepal Sherpa Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel. Depending on time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for the trek
Today, you will visit main places of Kathmandu valley. In the morning you visit Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, and Swayambhunath. Pashupatinath is the oldest Hindu temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa are the oldest Buddhist Stupas. After launch you visit Kathmandu durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square, you visit Kumari temple, the temple of Living goddess.
Day 3: Drive to Kota (2600m)
In early morning, you will drive to enter the Nar Phu Valley gateway, Kota, which at first passes through Besishar for lunch after following the roadway on the bank of the Trishuli River that gives life to several scenic terraced farms and typical villages while mountains like Ganesh and Manaslugaze throughout the journey.
The road condition from here is rocky and full of bumps, which can be a thrilling and challenging experience for both the drivers and passengers following the old Annapurna Circuit trekking trail.
Day 4: Koto to Meta (3560m)
You will begin your Nar Phu Kang La Pass Trek early in the morning because the route to Meta is difficult and hilly. You will travel the route via the Soti Khola bank after having all of your paperwork checked at the checkpoint. From Koto, you will depart the well-known Annapurna Circuit routes. You will get to Dharmashala over a number of wooden and suspension bridges, waterfalls, woods, and difficult ascents.
Anyone usually be impressed by the area’s tranquility, which has its own special appeal. Your energy levels will be maintained during the journey by the slowly shifting scenery and vistas of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal. You will discover a path that leads underneath the roaring waterfall, from where you can see Annapurna more clearly.
Day 5: Meta (3560m) to Phu Village (4080m)
After breakfast with a magnificent view of Meta, your journey will begin. At the start of the trek, you will come across stunning monasteries and vibrant Tibetan chortens with flying prayer flags. The route to Chyakhu regularly rises and declines and to get to Chyakhu, one must cross a suspension bridge after passing through the lovely villages of Naar Phedi and Jhunum. Before entering Kyang, you will have a magnificent view of Annapurna. Pisang Peak and Annapurna II can be seen in spectacular detail from Kyang.
Before reaching Phu village, you would have passed the Phu Khola on a rough route, leaving behind some underwater rocks and perhaps a few campgrounds. You will see a historic Tibetan fortress and two ruined forts for the first time after 1.5 hours of hiking along the tight gorges and high slopes. The villages of Nar and Phu are well-known for their distinctive blue sheep, different cultures, and religious rituals. Tashi Lhakhang Monastery is a must-see location in Phu Village. The Himlung Himal and other Himalayan mountains may be seen from Phu Village.
Day 6:Acclimatization Day in Phu Village (4080m)
After several days of continues hiking, today is the day to day and you are advised to adapt to the altitude and relax. You can wander the valley learning about the local people’s culture and religion and interacting with members of several ethnic groups, including the Ghale, Gurung, and Lama. You may easily finish this journey because the distance from here to Tashi is only 3 to 4 kilometers. Although it could take a little longer, visitors to Phu can also visit Himlung Base Camp.
Day 7: Phu Village to Nar Phedi (3490m)
In early morning you will return through the Phu gate and then descend to the Phu Khola after breakfast. You will next reverse your Nar Phu Valley Trek Route to reach the picturesque campground at Jhunum. You will once more descend to Mahendra Pul while traversing many streams on suspension bridges. At Nar Phedi, where this route splits off, you may see Nar Phedi Monastery, Gyalbu Kumbu, and Satte Gompa. In addition, there are four ancient, vibrant traditional monasteries and towering snow-capped mountains.
Day 8: Nar Phedi to Nar Village (4150m)
You will trek toward Nar village from Nar Phedi after exploring the prominent, snow-capped Kang Garu summit. You will march on after passing the Mani walls, Gompas, and mud-walled cottage to arrive at the Nar Valley’s entrance gate. The barley farming, stunning views of Kang Garu and Pisang Mountain and distinctive local culture are all offered by Nar village. Additionally, you need to prepare for Kang La Pass today and the fact that every household in Nar has at least one child who studies Buddhism may surprise you.
Day 9: Nar Village (4150m) to Ngawal (3660m) via Kang La Pass (5320m)
In order to reach the Kang La Pass today, you are advised to wake up early in the morning. The well-known Annapurna Circuit is reached by using Nar Phu Valley via Kang La Pass Trek Route. You will ascend from Nar through a beautiful trail that travels through yak meadows as you navigate the Temdenzon Khola’s lateral moraine. The journey will next lead you to Jhombu Kharka, commonly known as Kang La Phedi. You will gradually ascend to Kang La Pass from Kang La Phedi. The vista from Kang La Pass includes the Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho peak, peaks surrounding Tilicho, Marsyangdi valley, and Hunde airport.
Day 10:Ngawal to Pisang and drive to Dharapani or Besisahar (2,493m)
On this day, you will descend more than 2,000 meters from the Kang La Pass. Hence, the weather starts to get warmer, the surroundings become greener, and the route opens up further right after passing the lake just outside Pisang.
You will stop here for a lunch break and give continuity to the trail till you catch a four-wheel drive to Besisahar.
Day 11:Drive back to Kathmandu
Today, you will begin the day earlier and depart on the private jeep/local bus to Kathmandu, covering a distance of 200 km, following the river ridge of the Marsyangdi River at first and then the Trishuli River.
Although the roads are grueling, the landscapes and farms on terraces at the bottom of the hills are intriguing, which makes a final clamber from the hills of Thankot to the valley of Kathmandu, where you can enjoy hot showers and luxuries you have been void of in the trek days.
Day 12: Departure to Kathmandu Airport.
A representative from Nepal Sherpa Treks will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
