Ama Dablam Peak is one of the most stunning mountains in Eastern Himalayan range in Nepal. The main peak stands at elevation of 6,812m/22,350 feet. The ridges on each side resemble the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier is thought to be the Dablam, worn by Sherpa women.  Ama Dablam means “Mother’s Necklace” in local Sherpa language. We take the original route up the southwest ridge, which is technically difficult in normal conditions due to enough rock, snow, and ice to make it a difficult climb.

The relatively best time to go on this adventure is in the late autumn, when the weather is cool but predictable however, it’s also possible in the early spring. Climbers benefit from our expert Sherpa climbing team’s exceptional technical skill and support. Moving to Camp 1 (5,700m) on the southwest ridge begins from base camp, passing through boulder fields, slabs, cairns, and gullies. We follow the east side of the ridge from Camp I and continue our ascent on narrow crests and traverses until we reach the west side of the ridge. The hardest pitch’s short section leads to Camp II, which is in a very tight space for camping. We continue climbing the ridge to the difficult eastward cross.  In order to reach our Ama Dablam expedition Camp III, we take this route to the ravine between the Grey Tower and other rocky makeups. We begin our ascent and summit push from camp III, following the southwest ridge to the summit, crossing numerous evident and deep crevasses. You will be rewarded with breathtaking and panoramic mountain views at the summit.

Best Time for Amadablam Climbing

The best times for climbing Amadablam are spring (April to May) and autumn (September to November).

Acclimatize by spending extra days at higher altitudes.

Familiarize yourself with basic mountaineering techniques, such as rope handling, ice axe use, and crampon walking.

Consider taking a basic mountaineering course if you are a beginner.
