Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu (1345m) and transfer to Nepal
As your aircraft lands at Kathmandu airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. In case of your time adequacy, our guide will take you around the local old market where you will get an opportunity to experience the lifestyle of the diverse range of Kathmandu. In the evening you will join a welcome dinner along with a Nepalese cultural show. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Guided Kathmandu sightseeing.
On the first day of a full day tour in Kathmandu, you will be busy at three of the seven UNESCO cultural sites. Swayambhunath. ‘The self existent’ stupa, is often referred to as ‘Monkey Temple’ due to large troops of tricky monkeys found in its premises. This is also a place to have a bird eye view on the Kathmandu tour since the hillock presents a picture of the entire town. Then visit the Kopan Monastery offers a contrasting spiritual experience. The monastery offers meditation courses and retreats, drawing in people looking for a peaceful escape from their busy routines. After lunch you will visit ancient colossal Buddhist stupa is one of the biggest in the world, It was listed as a UNESCO Heritage Monument in 1979.
Day 03: Kathmandu-Chitwan National Park.
After breakfast, drive to Chitwan National Park by bus/private car (185km (5.5 hours)). En route, you will enjoy 5 hours drive or white water rafting on the Trisuli river. Upon arrival in Chitwan, you will check into the hotel and have a welcome drink and lunch and briefing about jungle activities. In the evening, you can enjoy the Tharu stick dance and dinner. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 04: Chitwan National Park.
Wake up call with tea/coffee followed by a nature walk and bird watching tour. After breakfast and start your jungle safari on elephant. Visit the elephant breeding center. In the afternoon, take a canoe ride or jungle hike. The Tharu stick dance will be followed by dinner. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 05: Chitwan-Lumbini.
After breakfast, drive to Lumbini (150 km/ 5 hours). We travel overland from Chitwan to Lumbini, one of the places with breathtaking views and scenic beauty. The birthplace of Lord Buddha, it is one of the most compelling places to visit in Nepal. Considered as the place of holy pilgrimage, Lumbini falls in the list of World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO. When we arrive at Lumbini, we transfer you to the hotel to take a rest after the journey. Check-in and then we go walking through the Sacred Lumbini Garden, the place to visit as it is considered the birthplace of the Lord Buddha. There remains the Ashoka pillar on the charts too. Visiting the Maya Devi Temple with its bas-relief sculpture depicting Maya Devi is also marked on our Buddhist circuit tour.
Day 06: Around Lumbini
This morning after Breakfast you will visit Japanese Stupa, Chinese Stupa, Ashoka Pillars, Vietnam Stupa, Buddha’s birthplace, Mayadevi Temple and many other Buddhist Stupas. You will hire Rickshaw on your own for sightseeing. Overnight stay at hotel in Lumbini.
Day 07: Kathmandu.
Early in the morning enjoy the sunrise, have breakfast and then drive back to Kathmandu. Rest in afternoon or walk around Thamel.
Day 08: Visit Namobuddha
Early in the morning, after breakfast visit Namobuddha is one of the must visit Buddhist pilgrimage sites. It is believed that one of his previous lives, Buddha sacrificed himself at the site to feed starving Tigress and her cubs. As per the Jataka stories, Price Mahasattva with his two brothers from the nearby Panauti, was passing through the jungle of Namobuddha. He saw a nourishing mother Tiger and her cubs starving to death. Out of great compassion, Prince Mahasattva, offers his own flesh. The Namobuddha Stupa is believed to be built with his remaining bones.
Then visit Patan Durbar Square, where you will marvel at the 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone. This 21-spired temple holds a commanding position in the palace complex of Patan and is supposed to be the first specimen of Shikara style architecture in Nepal. Next visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will visit Kumari -the Living Goddess of Nepal, Legendary Kasthamandap Temple, Hanuman Dhoka Palace and many other shrines. O/n at Hotel.
Day 09: Visit Bhaktipur and Nagarkot.
After breakfast in hotel, drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you will see the palace of 55 windows, the stone temple of Batsala Devi full of carvings, innumerable temples and architectural showpieces like the Lion Gate, the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, the picture gallery and the Batsala temple. Next we will visit Patan Durbar Square, where you will marvel at the 16th century temple dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Krishna, built entirely of stone. This 21-spired temple holds a commanding position in the palace complex of Patan and is supposed to be the first specimen of Shikara style architecture in Nepal. After observing the farmland, lifestyle of locals and passing dozens of turns, we will drive to Nagarkot, ‘The Fort of the Town’. In early evening you will enjoy sun-set and Nagarkot is perfect area.
Day 09: Transfer to the airport for your final departure.
Early morning enjoy sun rise and mountain views from either a hillside or top of your hotel. After breakfast in Nagarkot, drive to Kathmandu and transfer to the airport or hotel and your flight later in the day. Afternoon shopping and transfer to airport. The 9-day extended Buddhist circuit tour comes to an end today. Enjoy further journey.
