Personalized adventures
Considered as one of the moderately challenging treks in Nepal, the Manaslu Circuit will reward the adventurous with an unparalleled alpine experience. Opened in 1992, this area offers a combination of rich culture heritage, unsurpassed beauty, and biological diversity. We ascend the Gandaki River valley, which is fed by innumerable rivers and waterfalls, offering the chance of a plunge into some bathing pools. From here, the strenuous section begins and yaks begin to out number people in the rocky landscape. In Samagoan (3450m) we visit the glacial green lake of Birendra, before crossing into mystic Samdo, a mere 15km from the Tibetan border.
The biggest challenge then awaits – crossing the snow bound Larkya La pass (5213m). Snow-covered peaks over 6500m towers above as we cross. The descent, once off the snow, takes us through alpine then tropical areas, bursting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees, waterfalls and aqua-blue green lakes laced with cotton-white beaches. Finally, Manaslu will disappear as we descend to Beshishar (832m.) This 3 week excursion will leave you with a sense of peace and respect for the people of Nepal and its ecological wonders.

Ready-to-book adventures
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu [1,330 m]
Upon your arrival, a representative from Nepal Sherpa Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel. Depending on time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for the trek
Today, you will visit main places of Kathmandu valley. In the morning you visit Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, and Swayambhunath. Pashupatinath is the oldest Hindu temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa are the oldest Buddhist Stupas. After launch you visit Kathmandu durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square, you visit Kumari temple, the temple of Living goddess.
Day 03: Drive to Machha khola 1300m
Early morning you will ride 4 wheel drive to Machhakhola via Aroghat is a beautiful experience. Leaving Kathmandu we drive through an adventurous twisting roadway with so much to see on the way. In spite of the slender roadway, the view of lush vegetation will surely make your day rewarding one.
Day 04: MachaKhola – Jagat 1360m
We cross the Machha Khola- Fish Stream- and head upstream to the village of Khola Bensi and the hot springs at Tatopani. The valley sides steepen until they are impassable and the route then switches to the left bank by way of a suspension bridge. After a short section of forest path we reach the single tea house at Dovan. Above Dovan, the Buri Gandaki descends an impressive series of rapids. At Lauri, we re-cross the river on a suspension bridge and then climb on a high path to the fields of Jagat, where we camp.
Day 05: Jagat to Deng 1800m
In the morning descending a long series of stone steps to the river, the trek climb a terraced hill to Saguleri, from where we can see the impressive Sringi Himal, 7187m. Crossing the river again, at Gata Khola, the path splits, with the right–hand branch heading off towards the Mustang. Our route continues upstream, through a gorge section with towering walls. We cross the river three more times in the next two hours to avoid difficult valley sides and then climb up over a further steep spur to reach the village of Deng, where we camp.
Day 06: Deng to Namrung 2550m
The valley is still steep- sided and most impressive. We cross to the village of Lana, and start to see prayer stones, a sure signs that we are entering Buddhist regions. After only about four hours we reach the village of Ghap and have a lunch. There are more prayer walls and 3 more crossing of the Buri Gandaki on our route to Namrung, where our permit is checked. Above this village the valley opens out and there are extensive pastures. Ascend gently now, and cross a large stream flowing down from the Lidanda Glaciers, and reach the Tibetan village of Sho, 3000m.
Day 07: Namrung to Shya La 3500m
Today we will walk the beautiful trail through ample ancient traditional settlements and cross suspension bridges. Gradually we will proceed towards the village of Lho which gives you the best view of the world’s 8th-highest mountain Manaslu at its best. We will have lunch at Lho and slowly walk towards Shya La through trails with prayer walls, Chortens, villages, and the dramatic forest setting of pine and oak.
Day 08: Acclimatization Day
Acclimatization days are crucial during your Manaslu Trek. Since you will be going as high as 5106 meters, your body needs time to adapt to the less oxygen environment. We will be following the principle of ‘Walk High, Sleep Low’ as we will take a short acclimatization hike to Pung Gyen Gompa. This hike may take about 3 hours of climbing to the monastery that delivers one of the most phenomenal views of Manaslu and its neighboring mountains. The view from Pung Gyen Gompa is jaw-dropping.
Day 09: Shya La to Samdo 3780m
Descending to the main trail via a direct route, we soon reach the fields of Sama Gaon, 3500m. We stay at Sama Gompa, 20 minutes beyond the village, or Samdo, near the Tibetan border.
Day 10: Samdo to Larkya Base Camp 4460m
Today we enter into the Alpine away from the tree line area and with absolutely no urgency to reach our destination today, we take it very slow and easy. We take it easy as today is a short day trek and secondly, the altitude matters. Intake of adequate fluids, multiple breaks, and thousands of photos is highly recommended. This valley of Shangri-La is breathtaking and finally takes you to the very basic yet exhilarating settlement of Dharmasala.
Day 11: Larke BC to Bhimthang 3660m
The Larke Pass trail is considered one of the longest but not as technical as most high passes in Nepal. Usually, it is impressive to see the line of people with their lights cruising into this deep mountainous valley. Gradually with the coming of the morning sun, you would find yourself on the moraine-glacier trail offering you with magnificent view around. After the pass trekking down the gravelly trail is quite tricky but being at the Paradise like Bhimthang is the greatest reward of all.
Day 12: Bhimtang – Dharapani 1860m
After breakfast, we start our walk with a reasonable descent and get to the tree line area. This valley walks into the woodland of pine and coniferous is fascinating. Anyone would be very amazed to witness this diverse face of Manaslu which is entirely different from what we have done so far. It’s a great combination of mountains, hills, forests, and rivers with beautiful villages. Gradually we get to the village of Goa for lunch and eventually reach the beautiful settlement of Dharapani.
Day 13: Dharapani drive to Besisahar then to Kathmandu
We will drive through the rugged dirt road until Besisahar. It’s a beautiful countryside driving that makes an end of our unforgettable Manaslu Larke Pass Trekking. Relax and rest in the hotel, have a good shower and try a good cuisine
