In Thimphu you will be visiting Memorial Chorten, Simtokha Dzong, National Libraty, Institute for Zorig Chusum, Medicine institute, folk heritage museum. You we will then head to Punakha and visit the extra ordinary Punakha Dzong. Punakha Dzongkhag has been inextricably linked with momentous occasions in Bhutanese history. It served as the capital of the country from 1637 to 1907 and the first national assembly was hosted here in 1953. It is the second oldest and second largest dzong in Bhutan.

Day 01: PARO-Drive to Thimphu
Check-in at Airport for your flight to Paro a town and seat of Paro district as well as it is the home to Paro Airport, Bhutan’s only international Airport. In the clear weather, there are magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks. Our local Bhutanese cultural guide will meet and greet you at the airport and transfer to Thimphu. Visit the Memorial Chorten-the most impressive stupa built in the memory of Bhutan’s third King by the order of Grand Queen Mother Ashi Phuntso Chodden in 1974. Overnight in Thimphu | Altitude: 2300 m
Day 02: Thimphu-Punakha
In the morning visit to the School of Arts and Crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan, walk to Folk Heritage Museum located next to the school and end with the visit to nearby National Library. After lunch, drive to Punakha over Dochula pass, at 3150 m, if the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains in Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. Walk around the 108 stupas and take us to the breath taking scenery. Continue your drive to the warm valley of Punakha. Overnight: Punakha | Altitude: 1350m
Day 03: Punakha sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to visit Punakha Dzong (fortress), which houses the most elaborate temple in the country. This is a fine example of Bhutanese rich Art and Architecture. Drive further up to visit the Souvenir Making Centre for girls supported by the Youth Development Fund for a brief interaction with the students and return back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, you could relax on the balcony of the hotel to enjoy the view of nature or go for an hour-long hike to the temple of Khamsum Yuley Lhakhang or the temple of Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility associated with the religious art of phallus. Day 04: Punakha-Phobjikha
Check out from the hotel and drive to the isolated valley of Phobjikha, the valley is protected by the endangered Black Necked Cranes migrating to Bhutan every winter (early Nov to end of February). The drive is very picturesque and worth every turn and climb. On arrival visit Gangtey Gompa, the only Nigmapa monastery which is the largest in western Bhutan. Phobjikha is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. Later in the afternoon, you could relax in the hotel or go for a nice short hike in the valley. This valley got electricity only recently. Farmhouse stay is optional. Overnight: Phobjikha | Altitude: 2900m
Day 05: Phobjikha-Paro
Retrace the drive back to Paro. After lunch, visit Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Continue further to stroll around the old Paro town and deep into some local handicraft stores. Could get some opportunity to see the traditional archery match going on. Return to the hotel and enjoy the evening. Overnight: Paro | Altitude: 2200m
Day 06: Paro Sightseeing
Early in the morning, hike to Taktsang Monastery, which also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. We hike 2 hours of uphill to reach the monastery. The view of the Taktsang Monastery is one of most the significant monasteries in Bhutan. The legend believed that Guru Rimpoche visited there on a tiger’s back in the 8th century and he meditated in the cave where the monastery was built for three months. Overnight: Paro | Altitude: 2200m
Day 07: Paro-Final Departure
Bidding farewell to Bhutan, fly to Kathmandu. Enjoying the aerial view of the high mountains while returning to Kathmandu. You will stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 08: Final departure
Today is your last day in Nepal. Our representative will drop you off at the airport as your Nepal and Bhutan tour comes to an end.
